Frezia Residency

Once a year, Frezia Gallery invites an artist to live and create in its home-gallery in the heart of Tel Aviv. The residency offers time and space to explore, experiment and develop new work, surrounded by the art, objects and everyday life of the home.

Yetiv Zvi Cohen | 2026

During his residency at Frezia Gallery, Yetiv Zvi Cohen explored the blurred boundary between everyday life and art. He created two large-scale works using a technique he developed: photographing the home-gallery with his working materials scattered throughout, printing the images, then cutting them into strips and reweaving them into new compositions. These intricate works transform familiar surroundings into something newly unfamiliar, inviting a closer look at the space and the shifting boundary between living and creating.

Tamir Chen | 2025

During his residency at Frezia Gallery, Tamir Chen explored drawing through the sound and pressure of pencil on paper. Pressing into the surface like tattooing skin, he created marks that could not be fully erased, leaving mistakes and irregularly cut edges visible. Working in small formats, he moved between the table and the wall, repeatedly arranging and connecting drawings into open-ended series intended to continue in his studio. Among his sources of inspiration were the home’s fossil collection- tiny objects holding entire worlds- and a familiar book of Peter Merom’s photographs of a dying lake, which became the starting point for a new series of drawings.
